Practical perspective
Find the listing errors that matter
A citation review is more useful when it distinguishes an inaccurate detail from a missing directory entry.
Start with the approved record
Confirm the business’s current public name, customer-facing contact details and genuine operating arrangement. Old website copy is a clue, not independent verification.
Record the discrepancy
For each listing, identify the exact wrong field, source URL and account owner. Do not overwrite a listing merely because a different format looks more familiar.
Prioritize customer impact
An incorrect phone destination or closed address can misdirect a customer. Resolve consequential errors before treating total listing count as a success measure.
