Practical perspective
Treat customer feedback as evidence
Reviews need context and care, whether a business is reading them or requesting permission to quote them.
Keep the source intact
Record the original location, date and permitted wording. Do not manufacture a star average from incomplete examples or convert an internal note into a public testimonial.
Respond without exposing details
A public reply should not reveal private customer circumstances. Decide who can reply and when specialist review is appropriate.
Use feedback to find a concrete issue
Look for a service or communication problem the business can investigate. A response policy is more useful than a promise to erase criticism or guarantee a rating.
