Local SEO

Show up with the right local information.

Help customers understand what you do and where you serve them. Review business information, eligible local profiles, and the pages people use when choosing a nearby service.

Begin with where you actually work

Local search information should reflect the business as it exists. Establish the real services, contact details, and areas served before writing location content.

A Chicago audience does not establish a Chicago office. A neighborhood name on a page is not evidence of a team, a storefront, or completed work in that neighborhood.

Review the customer journey

  • Check that published business details are consistent and current.
  • Review eligible local profiles and the information customers use to choose a service.
  • Make important service pages easy to find from the navigation.
  • Check the path from a local search visit to a usable, verified contact option.

Give each page a reason to exist

Useful local content answers a real question about the service in that area. Repeating the same page with a different city name adds little context.

Build from verified differences: available services, relevant conditions, and evidence the business has permission to share. Avoid invented projects or borrowed testimonials.

Prepare accurate source information

Collect the business’s public name, current website, services, and genuine coverage area. Review profile eligibility and access with the actual account owner before making changes.

Make the scope tangible

What useful work leaves behind.

Use these examples to define deliverables with a provider. They describe the work to agree, without promising a result.

A business-information record
Compare the approved public name, services, hours, real operating arrangement and contact destination across the website and eligible profiles.
A coverage and page decision
Identify which areas are actually served and which customer questions need local detail. Keep one useful explanation when separate pages would only change a place name.
A repeatable local observation
Record the query, sampled place, date and destination page. Compare similar observations without treating one result as a citywide ranking.
